A long, long time ago, in a village far, far away… just kidding, I’ll spare you!
We started as a father (Steven) and son (me, Eric) back in 2004. Steven had been designing for another firm and decided that he would take a shot at owning his own business. I was in my last year of college at Cal and was eager to help with the business. Together, we began designing and eventually dragged my mother (Tammy) into doing accounting and other administrative work with us. And so it began.
Steven would work the office, and I would drive around to meet clients at the jobsite, work with the contractors and deal with the vendors. We had a pretty good flow working multiple projects each month doing both new construction and remodel work.

It was a good mix of my father’s experience, and newer ideas that I’d bring from my tech background from my studies and from dabbling with other startups. Eventually though, Steven and Tammy reached retirement age a few years ago, and I decided to focus the business on servicing homeowners and contractors more closely in their homes and the jobsites rather than operating the showroom side of the business.
Today, I am joined by my cousin Kelvin, who enjoys designing and excels at color rendering. Together, along with the great relationships we accumulated in the construction and architectural community, we continue to the serve the San Francisco Bay Area’s remodeling and cabinetry needs.
With almost a thousand projects under our belts, and hundreds of satisfied clients… my question to you is this, “Will you be next?”
“Eric’s attention to detail – advising us on things that didn’t even enter our minds – was excellent. And such awareness comes only from experience. He really made us feel comfortable with his sense of humor and can-do attitude. The level of communication Eric provided was as good as any service professional I have EVER dealt with…” – Michael from Yelp
“His attention to detail, communication, and follow through is truly impeccable and is nearly impossible to come by in this industry. He was able to answer every single question I had thoughtfully and I never felt as if I were being ‘sold’.” – Claire from Google/Yelp/Houzz
“I looked into 3 different cabinetry firms… Eric was the most detail oriented and thoughtful. He walked me through all the options and took the time to explain how pricing was different for each option to fit my budget. After ordering… Eric went above and beyond when I had a bit of a rocky install process with the cabinet installers I hired – he provided great advice on how to ensure the cabinets would look great at the end of the day.” Dustin from Yelp/Houzz
“MTKC was referred to us by our contractor and multiple former clients of Eric’s… He worked diligently with us to provide a kitchen to meet our needs both in design and functionality. The customer service was excellent-always on time for meetings, prompt return text/calls, willingness to research concerns with great follow-up, patient and understanding of changes, most of all amenable to making sure we were happy with the finish product. There was an issue with the refrigerator panels and Eric worked with Sollera to make sure the panels were replaced as designed.” Cynthia from Yelp
